- Defending companies against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including allegations of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, or national origin, and counseling companies on avoidance of such charges
- Counseling companies in the drafting and enforcement of non-competition provisions and enforcement of same
- Drafting of employment manuals
- Counseling companies on compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Assisting with the interpretation and application of the Family and Medical Leave Act
- Prosecuting and defending parties before the Illinois Civil Service Commission and the Illinois Merit Commission
- Providing counsel on wage and hour issues, including claims before the Illinois Department of Labor
- Litigating respondeat superior issues pertaining to liability imputed to employers through acts of their employees
- Applying the Federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act to vindicate employers' rights
- Negotiating and representing companies in disputes regarding employment contracts
- Counseling companies on the application of the Illinois Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act
- Representing companies in investigations and negotiations with the Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs
- Representing companies in the negotiation and performance under consent decrees and conciliation agreements with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
- Developing e-mail, internet, social networking, and other technology policies that reflect modern communication methods
- Conducting internal investigations of alleged employee misconduct
